How to use the PNG to JPG tool
- Drop your PNG files onto the box.
- Adjust quality and the background color for transparent areas.
- Download each JPG, or all of them as a ZIP.
When to convert PNG to JPG
PNG is lossless, which is perfect for screenshots and graphics but wasteful for photos. A photo saved as PNG can easily be 5–10 MB, while the same image as a JPG at 85% quality might be under 1 MB and look identical. Convert when an upload form has a size limit, when an email is too large, or when a site only accepts JPG.
Keep PNG for images with sharp text, thin lines or transparency. JPG blurs hard edges slightly and has no transparency.
Transparent backgrounds
JPG can’t store transparent pixels, so they must be filled with a color. White is the default here, and you can pick any color to match where the image will appear. If you need to keep the transparency, use PNG to WebP instead; WebP supports it and is still much smaller than PNG.
Picking a quality
- 90–95% for images with text or logos.
- 85% for photos you want to keep looking their best.
- 70–75% for web images where size matters most.

85% is a good balance for photos. Use 90–95% for images with text or sharp edges.
